Let’s Make It Special

These are the words Paige and I said to each other when we were approached recently to provide chocolate bonbon favors for a rehearsal dinner being hosted at Simon Pearce Restaurant in Quechee, Vermont. A rehearsal dinner is a momentous event. Simon Pearce Restaurant is a stunning venue. And our client had a vision. We were so honored to partner with her.

We knew we wouldn’t be happy until she was. So we discussed bonbons and hearts and ganache flavors and colors and packaging. We talked about the groom’s chocolate preferences and the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses. We considered the flowers and the table dressing. Ultimately, we landed on a white box containing four bonbons – two each of salted caramel and espresso – wrapped and bowed with luxurious cream-colored satin ribbon. The boxes were an elegant part of the tablescape.

After all was said and done, our client reported that our chocolates were ‘beautiful and delicious’; our boxes and ribbons, 'first class’; and our customer service and kindness, ‘over the top’.  She said she hoped we would ‘get on the vendor list of all the major event venues and event planners’. Well, we hope so too! Because we loved partnering with our client and doing our part to make her vision for her rehearsal dinner event come true – and to make it special…
